Engaging the Eugene Community: Your Voice Matters

Updated: Apr 28

Engaging the Eugene Community: Your Voice Matters At Celebrate Eugene, Stefan believes that the key to creating positive change and progress in our community lies in engaging with the people who live here. He values the input and ideas of every individual, because we know that your voice matters. Inclusivity and empowerment are at the heart of this campaign, and is dedicated to making Eugene a city that embraces the goals and full potential of all its residents. Community engagement is not just a buzzword for us – it is a fundamental principle that guides our work. We believe that by actively involving the community in decision-making processes, we can create a city that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of its people. Here are a few examples of how community engagement can make a difference: 1. City Council Meetings: City Council and Management recently reduced Public Speaking times from 3 minutes to 2 and 1/2 minutes. Stefan wants to RETURN YOUR TIME and INCREASE Public Speaking allowances to 3 minutes. He regularly organizes town hall meetings where community members can come together to discuss important issues and share their thoughts and concerns. These meetings provide a platform for open and honest dialogue, allowing us to hear directly from the people we aim to serve. 2. Online Surveys and Feedback: Stefan understands that not everyone can attend in-person meetings, which is why we also utilize online surveys and feedback forms. This allows everyone to reach a wider audience and gather input from those who may not have the opportunity to attend physical events. However, nothing replaces in-person engagement, Stefan works with local business and community activists to understand every perspective. 3. Community Workshops: We believe in the power of collaboration and learning from one another. That's why we advocate Community Involvement, organize community workshops where residents can come together to share their skills, knowledge, and experiences. These workshops foster a sense of unity and empower individuals to take an active role in shaping their community. 4. Volunteer Opportunities: Stefan volunteers to keep our parks, like Mt. Pisgah, clean and natural, experienced in organizing teams to gather bulk quantities of recycling. He encourages community members to get involved through volunteer opportunities, and leads by example. By giving back to the community, individuals can make a tangible impact and contribute to the positive change we want to see. 5. Social Media Engagement: In today's digital age, social media platforms provide a powerful tool for community engagement. Stefan actively engages with followers on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, encouraging them to share their thoughts and ideas. This allows everyone to reach a broader audience and create a space for meaningful conversations. Fixing Real Problems that affect Real People. Engaging the Eugene Community is not just about gathering input – it's about Actively Listening, Valuing Diverse Perspectives, and taking action based on the feedback received. We believe that by working together, Stefan can create a Eugene that is Inclusive, Supportive, and Reflective of the goals and aspirations of all its residents. So, we invite you to join us in this journey of community engagement. Your voice matters, and together, we can make a difference. Let's Celebrate Eugene – a city that embraces inclusivity, diversity, and the power of every individual's voice.
